Abstract |

The aim of this study is to determine factors affecting housing rent in
Dammam city. To accon:plish the above goal the relationships between housing rent
and sixteen variables related to accessiblty , building characteri~stics , and houses
characteriestics were analyzed .
Step-wise regression analysis revealed that variables such as , area of lot, area of
house, and number of houses in a building are determinent of housig rent in Dammam
city. The above three variables togther explianed more than 67% of the variation in
housing rent in Dammam city. An increse of Dne square meter in average in the area of
a housing unit, will increase the rent of a housing unit ten Saudi riyals in avrerage , at
the same time an increase of one square meter in average in the area of a housing unit,
will increase the rent of a housing unit forty three Saudi riyals in avrerage , in addtion ,
an increase of one housung unit in a building, will decrease the rent two hundrad Saudi
riyals in avreage in Dammam city.
Accordingly , the study provided some recommendations for further research and
decision makers. |
