Abstract : In this article, an automated production system with two unreliable stages and a buffer is considered where the first stage has two identical machines in parallel and the second stage has a single machine. A stochastic model, which consists of a set of differential equations, is developed and solved by using a systematic matrix approach to determine line efficiency.
