Influence of Groundwater Table Fluctuation on Performance of Bases of Bases & Subgrades
تاثير تذبذب المياه الجوفية على أداء طبقات الأساس والتأسيس

Abstract : Water table levels fluctuate in areas where no storm and/or sewage systems exist causing significant variations in the moisture contents of the base and subgrade materials that lead to a major deterioration in the performance of pavements. In this paper, strength characteristics and basic properties of the soil are examined. The effect of the degree of saturation in the range of 50 to 100% , on the resilient modulus of the soil, and the pavement deflection are studied utilizing the results of cyclic undrained triaxial tests with lateral pressures in the range 100-140 kN/m2.
