Abstract : The elernental analysis of hernatite and phosphate Saudi ore sarnples have been done by rne~ns of the instrurnental neutron activation analysis technique (INAA). The sarnples and the standards used were irradiated in a therrnal neutron flux of 1.9 x 103n /crn2.su sing5 Ci241A rn-Be irradiation facility, which was designed for this purpose. The garnrna-ray spectra were collected by rneans of the well calibrated hyper pure gerrnaniurn detection systern. More than 35 garnrna ray lines have appeared in the irradiated hernatite ore sarnples spectra and they were belonging to the elernents of AI, K, Ti, Mn, Fe, As, Eu and Ra. The concentration percentage value of Mn in hernatite has been evaluated as 0.332 :!: 0.013%. In phosphate ore sample spectra rnore than 30 garnrna-ray lines have been identified which were belonging to: Na, K, Sc, Fe, La, Ra, Th and U elernents. The Na concentration percentage value in phosphate ore has been determined to be 9.17:!: 0.33%.
