Abstract : The Sidarah granitic Pluton (Latitude 24°IO'N and Longitude 39°12'E) is a mass of monzogranite. biotite monzogranite. syenogranite and granodiorite. It is intruded into a country rock made up mainly of rnetavolcanics, metasediments and diorite of the Hulayfah and AI-Madinah Groups. No sharp contacts exist between the different types of granite. The Sidarah granite shows calc-alkaline affinity. and is an S-type granite. but with some features of the I-type. Moreover. it is orogenic. and was generated under syncollision to late orogenic environments. It is suggested that it was developed through the partial melting of crustal material after the thickening of the crust following ;sland arc accretion.
