Abstract : Groundwater sampling and analysis of 105 wells in the AIMadinah AI-MunawaraQ, region, Saudi Arabia was carried out using the "lumped parameter" approach. Regression equations are developed for electrical conductivity versus other ions, Na+ + K+ versus other ions, electrical conductivity versus distance (km) from upstream and SO~-/CI- ratio versus distance from upstream. The equations developed are easy to use in determining the groundwater quality of upstream or downstream wells from a known electrical conductivity value at a specific well. The present groundwater quality is mostly sulfates and chlorides of calcium and magnesium, and is suitable for domestic use. The analysis indicates that the ratio of SO~-/CI- decreases with the distance from upstream and electrical conductivity increases with the distance from upstream. The relationship of number of tributaries and hydraulic gradient with the distance from upstream was poor.
