Abstract : This study included 14 patients presented for splenectomy due to haematological disorders. All patients were subjected to laparoscopic splenectomy with vascular sealing devices, with the aim of assessing the applicability, safety and efficacy. Mild bleeding occurred in 3 patients, the operative mean time was 54 +- 2.1 min. There was no operative mortality nor postoperative pancreatitis. The hospital stay was 3.1 +- 0.7 plays with resumption of normal daily activity after 11.6 +- 2.45 days. From this study we can conclude that this technique should be considered as the technique of choice when indicated.
