Medical Waste In The City of Jeddah
المخلفات الطبية بمدينة جدة

Subject : ..
Document Language : Arabic
Abstract : ABSTRACT. Most of the 23 tons of medical waste generated daily from hospitals, clinics and medical laboratories in Jeddah goes directly to the municipal landfill without any treatment. Sixty four percent of this waste is reusable plastic, cotton, and fabrics. Non-medical waste such as newspapers, food waste, and office refuse is common material found in the medical waste stream. This is due to the lack of segregation and separation of medical and non-medical waste at the source. Throughout this study, the author could not find a unified written procedure to control the flow, treatment, and disposal of the medical waste generated in Jeddah.
