Abstract : The digital information is subjected to loss on the long run, for reasons related to the progression of the same information files getting old, or for obsolescence of the storage medium, or obsolescence of hardware required to read the information. Magnetic disks and laser disks are susceptible to damage after a period of time and use, it is also subjected to change and lack of use due to obsolescence and the emergence of more modern media, as well as the case for the players of those tapes and disks, as well not all the programs that were used to create data files may be available after a period of time, which makes reading files written using those programs not possible in many cases. To achieve continuity of allow Digital Library contents we should develop strategies for archival, to ensure the viability of such content to use and access on the long term without the need to re-numbering for the future in cases where the original materials are still in use, and not removed, because getting rid of assets - if any - makes this alternative is not available on despite the high cost that would tax the entities that create digital libraries. The aim of this study is to shed light on the concept and importance of digital archiving, and review of the methods applied, and aims to identify the extent of interesting digital projects in Saudi Arabia through developing appropriate strategies for the archival of digital projects that are create.
