KAU Vice President Meets with Climate and Atmospheric Sciences Magazine Editorial Team, Issued in Partnership with Nature Publishing Group

 
 

 In a novel initiative to strengthen KAU’s role and leadership in climate and atmospheric sciences research, its Center of Excellence for Climate Change Research and in cooperation with the International Publishing group ‘Nature’, King Abdulaziz University seeks to launch a new Climate and Atmospheric Sciences magazine. 

In this regard, KAU Vice President and Chairman of the Committee for Follow-up, Support, and Development of the Life Sciences Prof. Abdullah Mohorjy met with the new climate and atmospheric sciences magazine editorial team. The team includes Professor of Environmental Health at the Birmingham University in the United Kingdom Roy Harrison, and Climate Scientist at the International Center for Theoretical Physics in Italy Professor Fred Kucharski. The meeting was attended by Prof. Mansour Al Mazroui, Director of Center of Excellence for Climate Change Research.

During the meeting, HE KAU Vice President welcomed the editorial team and stressed that the University is pursuing its efforts to build interdisciplinary bridges linking it with various research centers, and that it is determined to support any such partnerships. He added that this newly born magazine and the partnership with the prestigious Nature Publishing Group will pave the way for future International Cooperation on that front, and that is due to KAU’s conviction of the importance of scientific cooperation in all fields of knowledge and in the role that the new magazine will play in raising the level of climate change and atmospheric science research in the regional level specifically, and in the global level generally.

During the meeting, the editorial team acclaimed the efforts exerted by KAU and its regional as well as global leadership in all research domains, praising the establishment of such a cooperation which will contribute in raising the level of KAU’s international ranking and scientific position, and disclosing that the magazine has already received a number of research papers which will contribute to the first issue of the magazine, expected to be published in early 2017.
