HE KAU President Receives the Boy Scouts and the University Special Needs Team

 
 

 HE KAU President Prof. Abdulrahman Al Youbi received in his office on December 4th, 2016 the University Boys Scouts who won the shield for most volunteer work in the Peace Messenger Project for the year 2016. He also received the University’s special needs team, which had just won second place in the Goalball championship within the Saudi Universities Sports Federation championships.

The reception was attended by KAU Vice President for Educational Affairs Prof. Abdullah Al Ziyabi and Dean of Student Affairs Prof. Abdulmonim Al Hayani, along with various heads of deanship departments.

During the reception, KAU President Prof. Al Youbi praised the achievement attained by the teams for the University, which sets it high among educational institutions and universities in the Kingdom. He added that it is an extension to the outstanding achievements of KAU students on the local and regional levels, offering his pride and appreciation to the students in both teams.

It is worth mentioning that the University Boy Scouts was honored to receive the most number of hours in volunteer work within the Peace Messenger Project for the year 2016 from HH Carl IX Gustaf, King of Sweden and Honorary President of the International Boy Scouts Financial Funds, during HH visit to the Peace Messengers Camp in Riyadh and in the presence of HE Saudi Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Issa.

The University’s special needs team was able to earn the second place and the silver medal during the First Olympic Tournament competitions for the 7th season of the Saudi Universities Sports Federation championships, organized under the auspices of HE the Minister of Education and Chairman of the Saudi Universities Sports Federation Dr. Ahmed Al Issa and hosted by King Abdulaziz University.
